Author Introductory Note
Note to readers of my Final Drafts from a reclusive writer.
A lifetime to write, a weekend to read. A good trade for the angst and practiced dedication in its making. A reader is the prize and writer’s dream come true. Modern storytellers can’t stop telling and wanting to share; oral storytellers of old weren’t paid; they were listened to. Readers feed on words, we have banquets and feasts to offer; without them we’re unknown.
FREE reading in the Final Draft form is a new approach to find readers. There’s no money involved. The pieces have an unpolished edge, as final drafts wanting an editor do. How do you pay? There are no tricks or hidden agendas, you pay by reading, and if inclined by dropping an email line to comment or say hello.
This is a new approach to the 12,000 new books published each and every day of the year. Give it away free to increase readers to our literary fold. The writer’s payback is not found by spending time chasing the pot of rainbow gold. Imagination can be taken to the bank, but not by this writer. Imagination fuels the inner fire that keeps you from the cold. To entertain readers should be our goal, not chasing the sparkle and fireworks of fame.
Readers are the other half of the writer/reader FAN-tastic duo. A writer who shares their heart and soul is paid by a reader’s time and attention. (It’d be nice to receive comment.)

Readers give writers the feeling of belonging to a community of like-minded people; sharing works that resonate with them brings joy untold. Imparting understanding, learning and entertainment through writing is a satisfying enough reward.
The reader who pauses to silent nod, “This is good,” is how I’ll win the writing game. Nothing better for a writer than people with hungry palates searching something good to read. In Final Drafts you don’t need to bring your credit plate for more.

Adventure/mystery love story of the last heir to the Ivanovich family fortune. Nicholas Andreyev, a Bitcoin-era Asperger savant, and Dr. Mercedes Conroy, a Mayan archeology professor, race from New York to Costa Rica and Palenque to break a childless curse and claim a Swiss vault of Imperial Russian wealth.
The direct sequel. Incalculable family riches extracted from Tsarist Russia before the 1917 Bolshevik revolution find their last heir in Nicholas Andreyev, a New York University Computer Science PhD candidate. Poetry
Under the full moon, smiling iridescence. Undulating prairie grass sways in rhythm with the predawn breeze. The grass stalks green two weeks ago, gone gold to brown. At the edge of the flat distance a dip, a glen of sixty-foot aspen trees flutters brilliant yellow leaves in the pip of the dawning sun.
Deeper in the forest, the dark shade from thick foliage sends the upper branches to reach higher, always reaching higher, drinking light for strength. Wavering in a wind composition to horizon a conch-pink sky.
Dead trees, on the sweet earth, cloaked by moss decompose in animal scat married to fallen leaves rotting in the earthly froth.
