Site Owner Guide

Everything on this page is written in plain language. When something needs doing, the steps are short and there is always a button to click.

Verify webbliterary.com with Google

Google Search Console is a free tool that shows how your site appears in Google search. Before it shows you anything, Google asks you to prove the site is yours. The easiest way is a small line of code (an "HTML tag") that goes on the site — and adding that line is my job, not yours.

  1. 1

    Open Google Search Console

Click this button and sign in with your Google account:

    Open Google Search Console
  2. 2

    Choose "URL prefix"

Google shows two boxes. In the one on the right labelled URL prefix, type https://webbliterary.com and press Continue.

  3. 3

    Pick the "HTML tag" option

Google offers a few ways to verify. Open the one called HTML tag. It shows a single line that starts with <meta name="google-site-verification". Click Copy.

  4. 4

Paste that line to me in the chat

Come back to Lovable and paste the line into the chat. I will add it to the site and put the site live — Google can only check a site that is live.

  5. 5

    Click "Verify" in Google

Once I tell you the tag is live, go back to the Google page and click Verify. Done — Google will start collecting your search stats.

Good to know: the code Google shows you here is different from the long "TXT" line you were given earlier. That is normal — you can forget the old line entirely. And you never need to touch name.com or any DNS settings for this method.

Stuck on any step? Just say so in the chat and I'll take it from there.
